I had to jog down these moments I am enjoying with my kids in tow. I work from home most days and my parents stay with me right now. DS N will be 7 months soon enough and he is recognizing us, smiling and laughing at times. It is so much fun to watch him grow and my 3.5 year old DD A is super gentle on her baby brother. Yesterday we went to see Ganapathi sachidananda guruji visiting Dallas and some cute little girl came to me and said, I love your baby. She then showed me a little toy and asked me if her baby is as cute. Such sweet innocence. Ofcourse I told her, I love her baby very much too. She cannot be happier.
My DD has 2 babies, one big one with wobbly legs and another small bean baby. Since I have 2 babies of my own, she calls them her own babies.
In her own words, you have 2 babies and I have 2 babies too, :-)
I am sure my DS will have a whole set of different games when he grows up. But it sure is a joy watching them both. And I am so fortunate that I have all this time with them.
Soon enough, we are moving back to India and then, I can no longer work from home. It saddens me that I have to leave my babies at home with my MIL. Not that I do not trust her but I am more comfortable taking care of them myself. Good thing in the whole ordeal is that my husband will work 2nd shift so I am planning to pull the 1st shift so I can rush home in time when it is time for their evening play time in the park.
Moving to India experience will take many pages of venting but I am promptly following the return2India forums. We will be working out of Gachibowli/Hitech city area and planning to rent in gated apartment community with kids play area, pool, little walking trail so our family do not have to go far to stay active and entertain.
As I type this, my DS is playing the electric key board, whole new tunes that my DD missed in her 2 years with that instrument, :-)
Good thing DD is out at the park with grand pa, else she would snatch it from DS screaming!
ok, enough of recording for today, I need to spend more time recording whatever I am eating, my daily fix of work out and stuff starting tomorrow!

My weight loss journey!
I just finished reading 2 (supposedly) food blogs but with some incredible weight loss journeys of their own! I am now motivated to write down every bite thats going in to my mouth so I can keep a better track of my journey.
I was never thin to begin with. As long as my memory goes, I was always the fat kid but on certain occassions I tend to practice severe diets and loose huge amounts of weight to look good. But after a few years and 2 kids, my weight dangerously creeped up!
I am ashamed to admit that I weighed a whopping 234 pounds at my endocronologist appointment last month. To be precise, on the 22nd of May. I started walking at least 2 miles on the 23rd of May, great way to start another year in my life, 23rd May being my birthday and all, :-)
I started south beach diet tailored to my vegetarian needs on the 1st of June but both actions did not yield any results. Then on the 16th of June, I started a more rigorous mostly liquid high protein diet with Ragi malt, fat free milk (coz I was lactating at the time).
But I cannot sacrifice my daily fix of coffee and tea. So, I am having 2 to 3 cups of coffee with splenda and 1 cup of tea. Along with my 4 big glasses of ragi malt.
But then I was on the strict phase for about a week, I started nibbling the veggie sides my family is gobbling down at times. Now, for the past week, I find myself munching on roasted peanuts, steamed corn, a little more than allowed limits I put for myself.
Now, this morning I weighed 219.6 pounds. So, I am down close to 15 pounds and wish to loose 15 more by July 31st. If I stay as long on this, as an incentive, I will allow myself to sample the festive spread my mom will make on the varalakshmi vratham assosciation.
So, bear with me blogger and help me on this 20 day weight loss journey of mine that will begin on the 11th of July 2009.

My very first post!
If you are reading this, Thank you for visiting my blog!
I have been reading, following and getting inspired many a blogs from atleast a year now. The idea to have my own spot seems to be the easiest way I can save my mom's recipes for myself and my kids.
7 months ago my mom met with a very unfortunate accident and was only given 30% chance of survival which caused shivers in my spine. I am glad to say that she is ok now and actually landing today in United states to be my support system. I had a baby 2 months ago and she can't wait to be here.
I cannot get another oppurtunity to record all her recipes than now and make memories in the process. Hoping to get this blog going with authentic East Godavari recipes from coastal Andhra as well as my experiments with all sorts of food!
Please check out my space for more updates soon enough,
